What's Happening in Truckee this January

 

Check out the January events in Truckee and Lake Tahoe. 

RING → in 2018 with the New Year’s Day Brunch at Manzanita on the 1st. Enjoy a holiday-focused brunch menu in featuring a chilled seafood display, a carving station, salads, cheese and charcuterie, along with breakfast favorites and desserts. January in Truckee

RELEASE → your inner wolf at Tahoe Adventure Company’s Wolf Full Moon Snowshoe Tour on the 1st. You will get to trek on easy to use snowshoes through Tahoe's peaceful, wintry forest. As you travel by moonlight, knowledgeable guides will discuss natural history and astronomy topics as well as fascinating facts about the moon. Snacks and hot drinks included! All activity levels welcome, though only those 8 and older are allowed to join. More information can be found here.

JAM → out at Alibi Public Truckee House on the 15th. This an open jam to all acoustic musicians who play bluegrass, old-time, folk, Celtic and any other forms of traditional music. It's all about sharing in musical heritage and connecting as a community. More information can be found on Facebook

SHOP → for S’mores on the 20th! After your day on the slopes, head to Kings Beach for shopping, dining, socializing and s'more making! Here's how it works: Visit at least 3 of the 12 participating local businesses to be entered in an awesome raffle and to get yourself a free s’mores kit. Each shop will be offering a variety of samples, demonstrations, hands-on activities and promotions. After shopping, stroll your way to the fire pits and heaters in front of Las Panchitas to collect your free s'more kit and win prizes! More information is here.

WATCH → fireworks from Squaw’s village every Saturday of the month at 5:30pm. Plaza Bar will serve complimentary hot cocoa, with food and beverages for purchase from 4-6:30pm. Before the fantastic firework show starts, free live music will be playing. For more information about both, visit Squaw's website

LEARN → how to ski at Alpine Meadows for their $99 lesson package Monday – Friday. Price includes lift ticket, rental equipment, and a lesson. Choose from a morning or afternoon lesson. Make this the year of skiing! More information can be found on their website
