What's New in Truckee and Lake Tahoe

There’s a reason why Friday nights are notorious for heavy traffic moving east over Donner Summit.  The Truckee/Tahoe area serves as a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of life at lower elevations.  From the crisp mountain air to new perspectives found on local trails and vistas, there is an intrinsic joy that’s accessible in this place we call home.  Our goal at KJM is to go beyond sales and dip into what we all have in common, a love and appreciation of the simpler things in life.  It’s for this reason that we have created www.wedreambig.com to highlight the mountain lifestyle, community and natural beauty of the mountains.  Here you will find everything from local resources and blogs to news and current events.  If buying and selling real estate is your focus, click the Real Estate tab and enjoy information on neighborhoods, active properties and market stats.

On a personal note:

My family just got back from Spring Break in Florida, enjoying salt water and temps above freezing.  We went to Kennedy Space Center where we watched an IMAX movie showing how dry California looked from space a couple years ago during the drought.  It was breathtaking to fly back into California after that viewing to witness bright green hillsides, water and wildflowers in all directions.  The fruits of Mother Nature’s labor are evident!  As I write this, they are releasing more water from Lake Tahoe and the Truckee River is rising by the hour.  -Megan Evans

On a professional note:

We are seeing more properties hit the market each day now.  The inventory is rising (a 26% increase in homes for sale in the last 30 days) and properties continue to sell quickly when priced competitively with the market.  We anticipate the next 30-90 days will include more of this trend with additional properties coming on and buyers, who have been patient all winter, picking them up.

On a snowmageddon 2017 note:

We are well aware that many of you have had a hard winter.  As the snow melts, the damage is starting to really appear from fallen trees to roof damage.  If you need any recommendations and support at your property here, please call us at (530) 426-5263.  We are here to help.
