Why: Truckee Tavern is one of our favorite restaurants in Historic Downtown Truckee. Their wine selection is filled with small producers who specialize in organic, biodynamic and sustainable growing techniques. The ever evolving cocktail list contains deliciously unique creations from owner/bartender Ryan Dierks. On their winter list, we suggest trying The Cubism, a Glenmorangie based cocktail paired with housemade gummies. The dinner menu is based around the restaurant's wood-fired grill and features housemade pasta, rib eye, and seasonal salads. Pick up a gift card online or stop by the restaurant after 4 PM.

Why: Being a lover of fitness, there is nothing better than another excuse to hit a workout class. There is no shortage of studios in Truckee but two favorites include Yoga Studio Tahoe for all our yoga classes and The Bar Effect to really get our sweat on. Both studios offer punch cards that you can put in your gift recipient's name.

Who: The Home Cook

Why: Pioneer Textiles are handmade in Tahoe City by local private chef, Amanda Adams. Amanda started Pioneer Textiles as a side project to explore her love for art, crafts and cooking. The shibori dyed napkins and tea towels are made with natural dyes and organic cotton. Pick up a couple packs for the home cook in your life. Why: 5 years ago a snowboard photoshoot on the Saas-Fee Glacier in the Swiss Alps changed Truckee local, Nick Visconti's future. Fascinated with how coffee was so embedded into the outdoor active lifestyle, he became determined to recreate his Swiss experience in Truckee and North Tahoe. The recently launched coffee brand, Drink Coffee Do Stuff,  sells their locally roasted beans online and offers free local delivery.
