What to do in February in Truckee

Happy February, Truckee! After an amazing #januBURIED, we know that you probably have skiing on the mind. While there’s nothing wrong with that — we’ll see ya out there! — there are so many fun things going on around Truckee this month that we recommend checking out.

SKI at Sugar Bowl’s Hump Day Hump on February 6th or at Tahoe Donner’s Cross Country Ski Challenge on the 10th. Sugar Bowl's Monthly Uphill Social a day filled with demos and clinics, a complimentary draft beer, and an Uphill Ticket! Visit Sugar Bowl’s website for more info! The Tahoe Donner Challenge is an annual tradition and fun challenge to ski what you think is the fastest route to multiple checkpoints on the XC trails. You can choose to ski to every checkpoint, or just pick one or two then compare your time with friends over a drink at Trailside Bar. All participants have a chance to win spot prizes on the trails. More information can be found here.

RAISE funds while raising the roof at a series of charity events this month. On February 8th, visit Riverside Studios for the Annual CR Johnson Memorial Lion Heart Art Show. Proceeds will go to the CR Johnson Healing Center, a program service of the High Fives Foundation. On the 9th, Achieve Tahoe is hosting the Ability Bash Gala to continue helping adaptive athletes build health and confidence. On the 16th, the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is hosting their 11th Annual Black Tie & Trails Gala. And, finally, all month long, the Tahoe SAFE Alliance will be selling $129 lift tickets to Vail Resorts, to benefit child survivors of abuse in North Lake Tahoe/Truckee.
