The 37th annual SnowFest kicks off Thursday, March 1st and runs through March 11th. Be sure to check out the many events happening all over Truckee and North Lake Tahoe. To ensure you don't miss a beat, we have outlined all the events taking place.

Kickoff Party and Queen Coronation

Tahoe City Snowfest Parade

The Tahoe City SnowFest Parade is a mardi gras-themed, family-friendly event that features local organizations with floats, bands, beads, and more! This SnowFest! favorite draws spectators from near and far and is not to be missed. "Johnny B" is our Grand Marshal for 2018. And new this year: the Uni-Cycling Unicorn!

2nd Annual Snowball Drop Fundraiser sponsored by the North Tahoe PTO

Pre-purchase snowballs (numbered ping pong balls) for only $10/each for
a chance to win the Snowball Drop! 1st Place Grand Prize is $1,000 (sponsored by the Lakehouse Mall Property Management, Inc./The Motamedi Family). 2nd Place Prize is $100. Snowballs can be purchased through students at North Tahoe School and North Tahoe High School with cash, checks (made out to NT PTO) or online through PayPal: Please include the student’s name and grade in the comments when purchasing your snowballs. Gar Woods' 30th Annual Polar Bear Swim

Hundreds of spectators line the pier and deck at Gar Woods to watch hardy souls brave the frigid waters of Lake Tahoe. Participants swim approx. 250 yards in 39 degree, bone-chilling waters before returning to Gar Woods Bar to "minimize the pain." Free appetizers will be provided following the event and everyone is encouraged to stick around for the hugely popular raffle after the swim.

Tahoe Donner I-Did-A-Run

Tahoe Donner Association's 14th Annual I-Did-A-Run

Dogs of all shapes and sizes compete in this entertaining dog race in which the dogs pull covered wagons across a snow-covered track. The event raises money for the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.

River Ranch's Snow Sculpture Contest

Teams will build snow sculptures to compete for prizes. Each team member gets drinks and lunch throughout the event. Children and dogs, welcome!
