Sugar Bowl Resort Extends Season Into May!

Sixty-eight inches of new snow has fallen on the slopes of Sugar Bowl Resort in the month of April alone, building on the resort’s already impressive base and bringing its season-to-date snow total to 782 inches. With more than a 19-foot snow base stacked up at the resort atop Donner Summit near Lake Tahoe, resort officials have decided to extend the season until May 7, 2017. Daily operations will continue through April 23. For the final two weeks of the season, Sugar Bowl will be open Friday through Sunday only, April 28-30 and May 5-7. Skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to check for updates that will include scheduled lifts and terrain through closing day.

“This season has literally been the winter that keeps on giving,” said Jon Slaughter, director of marketing and sales at Sugar Bowl Resort and Royal Gorge Cross Country. “We are closing in on the 800-inch mark, and the skiing and riding continues to be phenomenal. For those who haven’t made it up this spring, it’s not too late – the winter season is still well underway!”
