Fall into Truckee's Art Scene
This fall brings something unique and fun to Truckee celebrating the town’s Cultural District: Fall into Art! Throughout September and October, Truckee will be illuminated with events, like Wine, Walk, and Shop, that showcase the fantastic art, history, and nature of the area. Trails & Vistas Art Hikes (7th & 8th)
Trails and Vistas Art Hikes on the 7-8th. Guides will lead three-hour long guided interactive hikes winding through 12 site-specific art installations. Located in the majestic Sierras, Trails & Vistas plays host to a collective experience where art, nature and audience intersect. Learn more about the event here.
Art & Soul (14th)
Art & Soul Downtown Truckee ArtWalk is Fall into Art’s signature event! It combines visual art, live music, engaging demonstrations, beverages, small bites and more in the “Heart & Soul” of Truckee. We anticipate over 500 attendees for the 5th Annual Art & Soul. Downtown Truckee’s sidewalks and shop’s will host Art, Artists, sips and bites from Truckee/Tahoe/Northern California and Reno. Art & Soul celebrates all art-from visual to interactive and beyond-showcasing the art of Craft Beer and fabulous cuisine. Grab tickets here.
Donner Party Hike (14th & 15th)
Explore Donner Summit with local historians on interpretive Donner Party Hikes. As you trace the steps of the emigrants, imagine the clip-clop of oxen and the rumble of wagons of the countless pioneers who scaled the mighty Sierra Nevada in search of a better life. Choose from one of seven hikes ranging from 3.5 to 6 miles with varying degree of difficulty. See petroglyphs, railroad snowshed tunnels or the China Wall. Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl (19th-22nd)
This year marks the first annual Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl! The crawl is a free event designed to celebrate friends, community and all things fiber. Tour your way around Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains, from Atelier in Truckee and Alibi in Incline, to nine more shops from Graeagle to South Lake Tahoe. Each store along the way will have an array of delights specially organized for the crawl, from exclusive yarns to trunk shows, pop ups and more. Autumn Food & Wine Festival (20th-22nd)
The 34th annual Autumn Food & Wine Festival is sure to inspire your palate and bring you an elevated culinary experience. The annual festival brings together renowned winemakers and some of the region’s finest chefs for an intimate 3-day weekend full of wine tastings, culinary seminars, vendors and mountaintop dining. Wine, Walk & Shop (5th)
The Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop returns for the 16th year to support the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of North Lake Tahoe and Nevada County. Historical Haunted Tour (17th & 18th)
The Historical Haunted Tours are unforgettable nights of Truckee history on a fun and rowdy tour! The Tour features engaging tales performed by talented characters at six historical sites in Downtown Truckee. Ron Artis (18th)
Head to Alibi Ale Works Truckee to hear the soulful tunes of Ron Artis. Artis’s acclaimed music is influenced by deep Delta Blues, Gospel, Northern Soul and R&B. Paired with in-depth and personal lyrics, it’s music and a live show you don’t want to miss.
