What's Happening this March in Truckee


WATCH → artists create at the 8th Annual Wine n’ Ice Carving Competition on Wednesday, March 7th at the Truckee River Winery. See ten competitors sculpt 300 lb blocks of ice into gorgeous, alluring, and awe-inspiring sculptures. Guests will be able to enjoy Truckee River Winery's award-winning wines, special treats from Mountain Valley Meats, beer from The Brewing Lair, music from DJ Chango, and many fun outdoor winter games. Truckee River Winery's 2018 Wine n' Ice will benefit the Truckee River Watershed Foundation.


EAT → at Zephyr Lodge on the Friday, March 9th for the Mountain Table Dinner Series featuring Rodney Strong Vineyards. Bundle up and jump aboard the gondola at Northstar for an exclusive ride to Zephyr Lodge.  Take a short walk along a lantern-lit path to the lodge where live music and hand-picked wines await. Each dinner will feature a unique menu using fresh, California-sourced ingredients masterfully prepared to highlight the flavor notes in each wine selected. Guests will be able to chat with the Executive Chef and listen as the winemaker describes each pairing prior to indulging.

SKI →  and rejuvenate and connect with like-minded women at Northstar California’s Her Mountain Weekend Retreat March 10th - 11th.  This two day getaway brings women closer together allowing you to enjoy a weekend away in the mountains with other like-minded women. Experience great skiing with a small group of other women, including expert certified female instructors.

CELEBRATE → the snow at the annual Kings Beach Snowfest Parade on Saturday, March 10th. This fun-filled event brings over 1000 spectators and features entries from over 30 local community organizations and businesses, featuring costumes, floats, and live music. The parade brings smiles and joy as it travels east on Highway 28 along the beautiful north shore of Lake Tahoe. The parade will start at Secline Street and end at Coon Street. After the parade, stick around for the Get S’more Saturdays that starts at 3pm!


PARTY → for St. Paddy’s day at Squaw Valley and Stella on Saturday, March 17th. Sing, dance, eat & drink in the Village Events Plaza from 12:00-5:00pm, with perfect pints, Irish stew and toe-tapping music from The Blarney’s and Quel Bordel!  Afterwards, head to Stella at the Cedar House Sport Hotel for the St. Paddy’s Pop-Up Dinner. Enjoy a three-course dinner and drinks from the Stella Team who will put their creative spin on classic dishes from the land of shamrocks and leprechauns.

GIVE BACK → to the Tahoe Truckee School of Music on Saturday, March 24th at the Crab and Pasta Feed and Silent Auction. Join Rotary and the community for the Annual Crab and Pasta Feed! Each year the Rotary Club of Truckee selects a local nonprofit group to benefit from the silent auction at the Annual Crab and Pasta Feed. This year, all silent and live auction proceeds benefit the Tahoe Truckee School of Music.

HUNT → for Easter Eggs with the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District on Saturday, March 31st. The hunt will take place at the Truckee Regional Park and is a safe and fun environment for the whole family. Your young ones will be able to pick up tons of Easter Eggs spread around the two ballfields. The event starts at 11:00 a.m. when the Easter Bunny arrives, and then the Egg Hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. sharp. The children are divided into multiple age groups to ensure a fair and safe area for each child. This is a FREE event with face painting, candy and other great prizes for the kids.
