April 2019 Events in Truckee
Happy Spring Truckee!! Even though this spring looks a little bit more like winter – thank you JanuBURIED and FebuBURIED – we’re absolutely loving the longer days and warm ski days. Spring is a great season here in Truckee because the town slows down a bit and more locals come out to play. This month, don’t forget to check out all of the fun Easter festivities, as well as events, dining specials and happy hours, and those corn-filled slopes!
SPRING it ON at Northstar California on the 6th at the annual Pond Skim. Come take your chance at crossing Northstar's pond, costumes are encouraged! Not into crossing the pond? Come up and watch your crazy friends and listen to the DJ while soaking in the spring sun. Either way, it’s sure to be a good time! Learn more about the event and how to participate here.
COOK the perfect grilled cheese with the help of Atelier and Restaurant Trokay on the 12th. To celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day Restaurant Trokay owner Nyna Weatherson, former head cheesemonger at the world famous Greenwich Village cheese shop, Murray’s, will pass on her vast knowledge of cheese and skill guiding students through building and grilling the perfect, melty cheese sandwich. Students will talk and taste their way through this interactive and hands-on workshop, all while enjoying a glass of a perfectly paired draft brew or wine. Each person will build (and eat) their own flavor-filled sando, receive tasting notes and recipes, and confidently leave with the know-how to recreate this meal again for their friends and family. Learn more and register for a spot here.
